Shimta

When God gave His people their promised land, it came with instructions. Failing to maintain some of them caused the land to fall under judgment by way of the great Babylonian captivity warned of by Jeremiah the Prophet. One of the main reason was failure to observe the Shmita. Tonight we will learn what the Shmita is and what observing, or failing to observe it was so important and what it helps to tell us about the hearts of those who ignored it.
